Stacey identifies herself as an investigator, often filled with questions and a desire to find answers. As a result of her natural curiosity, Stacey began her career as a trainee auditor with Hall Chadwick Chartered Accountants as she completed her degree. Her time at Chadwick had provided her with the experience and mentorship she required before undertaking a more intermediate role in managing a small portfolio of clients.
From here, Stacey moved into commercial accounting and has held accountant positions within Helloworld Travel (then known as Harvey World Travel), Phoenix Leisure Group (manufacturers of the Black Wolf brand of products), Flight Centre Limited, Krispy Kreme Australia, Mirvac Ltd, and most recently, Laser Clinics Australia. It was here that Stacey felt she could use all the experience and knowledge from different fields she’d been exposed to, such as retail accounting, manufacturing, franchising and construction, to help grow small businesses, and so began Alpha Liberty Accounting. It was around this time Stacey joined Accodex and hasn’t looked back since, as the work she produces feels more rewarding and tangible, as she works side by side with clients, always improving and learning along the way.
Accodex has given Stacey the opportunity to focus on industries she is passionate about. Retail, both shopfront and online, are close to her heart as she enjoys the workings of the value chain – from the inception of the product or service to sourcing suppliers, budgeting, marketing and going to market. Healthcare is also an industry Stacey has honed in on, as it is a sector that is often overlooked by accountants, especially with the introduction of the NDIS in Australia. Stacey has an in-depth understanding of the NDIS from a providers point of view and is passionate about the work health care providers give to those who need it most in our society.
